Welcome to Help Our Women

STOP PRESS

The Crab Man

was launched at the London Book Fair 15 March

Part of the proceeds of this book will go to support young women in Afghanistan who wish to have an education but have neither the means nor the support to do so.

Help Our Women has been set up as a charity to specifically help women and their children who, as a result of living under appalling conditions caused through war or suppressive regimes, are suffering from the effects of extreme poverty and sickness.

Help Our Women is a small charity run by trustees. The chairman of the Trustees is Bettina Carr Allison - President and Founder of the European Youth Parliament and founder of the United World Youth Council, a major peace project bringing together young people from all over the world together to learn to transform problems into solutions etc.

In Riga, a team of voluntary helpers headed by Mara Graustina look after the needs of the women. Supporters have the opportunity to visit the women and the opportunity to meet other supporters once a year in London.

Aid is given not only with financial support by paying rent, medication etc. but also help with human rights issues, privatisation of floor space, compensation claims and, where appropriate, help with further education or training so that at least one member of the family will have the possibility of earning a wage. Often the women are elderly grandmothers. many of them are dying.

Help Our Women can help by paying bills, providing food, and most importantly, support them with their human rights issue.

To make a donation, please click here, fill in the form and return it to Witney House, West End, Witney, Oxon OX8 6NQ.
